Welcome to the Burning Man Web Team’s Website
Welcome to the Burning Man Web Team’s official website, offering an overview of who we are, what we do, and why. Like all of Burning Man’s teams, the Web Team is dependent upon volunteers who donate their time and skills to help achieve the mission of the Burning Man project. In this site, potential volunteers will find the information needed to determine whether they’d like to work with us, and if so, aim them in the right direction to join our team. If you’re considering volunteering with us, read on!
We are responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and evolution of Burning Man's websites, particularly www.burningman.com, our primary means of communicating to and connecting with our global community of Burners year round. Participants (both veterans and first-timers), the media, government organizations and the general public visit our site seeking information about Burning Man.
We hold twice-yearly volunteer intake sessions to orient and train new team members: one in April, one in October. To get a sense of how we work in the meantime, please visit our Volunteer Orientation page for an overview of our team structure, resources, and processes, and read our mission statement.
Our team is always looking for volunteer HTML coders, CSS gurus, application engineers, image jockeys, user interface designers, copywriters, project managers and quality assurance testers. We work with volunteers of all skill levels - you don't have to be an expert as long as you're web savvy and willing to learn. Find out more about our volunteer roles descriptions.
When you're ready to geek with us, then come join the team!
If you have questions, contact us, and we will help you out. For now, welcome! We have a lot of fun working together to create an experience that touches many many lives . and we look forward to working with you!
